Anna Irene Pennesi, age 93 ½, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023 peacefully at home in Grand Saline, Texas. Anna was born August 11, 1929 in New York, New York. She is the daughter of the late Louis and the late Christina Pavlo. She is predeceased by her husband Arthur Pennesi and her daughter Susan. She is survived by her children Luanne and Arthur, Jr., grandchildren, Marianna Pantusco, Christina Coscia-Weiss, Ryan Pennesi and Max Pennesi. She was also the cherished great grandmother to Susan and Philip Pantusco. Originally from the Bronx, she raised her family in Hicksville prior to retiring to Leisure Knoll in Ridge, New York. Anna went to secretarial school, worked for Benjamin Moore Paint Company in New York City and after raising her three children worked for the Hicksville Public School system until her retirement. She was an accomplished seamstress, mathematician, avid crossword puzzle lover and enjoyed the Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy game shows. Anna was known for her quick wit, her dry sense of humor, her practical determination and her generosity. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, New York. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Saint Mark's R.C. Church, 105 Randall Road, Shoreham, New York. Burial will follow in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York. Visiting hours will be from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, New York.
