Robert Caverno Kehl, age 87, of Shoreham, New York died Wednesday, February 20, 2019. Robert was born September 30, 1931 in Hempstead, New York. He is the son of the late Nicholas C. and the late Margaret (Barlow) Kehl. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean war from 1950 to 1954. He was employed at Brookhaven National Lab in Upton, NY as a Tech Supervisor. He is survived by his beloved wife, Wilma (Knabbe) Kehl , one loving daughter, Jennifer Waters (Thomas) of Annapolis, Maryland and one loving son, John H. Kehl of Key Largo, Florida. He also has three cherished granddaughters, Kaitlin Kehl, Allison Waters and Linda Waters. A religious service will be held 8:00 pm on Monday, February 25 at the Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, New York. Burial with Military Honors will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. Family and friends will gather Tuesday at the Funeral Home at 9:00 am for a closing prayer. Visiting hours will be Monday, February 25 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, New York. www.rockypointfuneralhome.com
