Obituary of Thomas John King

Thomas John King, age 62, of East Patchogue, New York died Thursday, September 2, 2021. Thomas was born November 4, 1958 in Bronxville, New York. He is the son of the late James King and Joan (Seitz) King. He was employed by Delta Well & Pump, Ronkonkoma, New York and was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 138 for over 40 years. Tom enjoyed spending summers with family and friends while at Watch Hill, Fire Island, NY on their beloved boat "Heaven Sent". Tom was always willing to lend a hand to those in need, and served on the board of directors of his Patchogue Shores community. He is survived by his beloved wife, Claudia (Maier) King, one loving daughter, Emily King of East Patchogue, New York and his dear mother, Joan (Seitz) King. He is also survived by his two brothers Michael (Paula) King of Freeland, Pennsylvania, James (Judith) King of Stuyvesant Falls, New York and one sister Kathi (Evan) Dunn of Nesconset, New York, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Timothy King in 2019. A Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at St. Joseph the Worker R.C. Church, 510 Narragansett Avenue, East Patchogue, New York. Private cremation will follow. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 5, 2021 from 7:00-9:00 PM and Monday, September 6, 2021 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM at the Ruland Funeral Home, 500 North Ocean Avenue, Patchogue, New York. The family has asked everyone to follow CDC Honor System guidelines; all entering without a mask are assumed to be fully vaccinated. They will not have to social distance. All others will require masks and must social distance.
